What Information is Included
The knowledge base is designed to contain objective technical information, including, where available:

- focal lengths and aperture ranges
- optical construction
- dimensions and weight
- filter sizes
- focusing specifications
- supported features
- release dates
- other factual product specifications
Where multiple reputable sources disagree, TPE may choose the most authoritative source or defer publication until the information can be verified.
What We Intentionally Avoid
Our ingestion pipeline is designed to avoid storing or reproducing expressive content wherever practical.
This includes:
- marketing copy
- promotional language
- editorial articles
- product reviews
- opinion or commentary
- forum discussions
- copyrighted photographs and illustrations
Our focus is on preserving factual technical information rather than reproducing original written works.
Source Attribution
Where practical, source links are displayed alongside knowledge base records.
Source attribution identifies where information was obtained or verified during ingestion. Attribution does not imply that:
- the source website endorses TPE;
- TPE is affiliated with the source website;
- the source website has reviewed or approved the resulting knowledge base record; or
- the knowledge base record reproduces the original source page or its contents.
The information presented in TPE is our own structured representation of factual product information.
Respect for Publishers
We strive to respect the interests of publishers whose publicly available information may be used during the construction of the knowledge base.
Our ingestion pipeline incorporates a number of safeguards, including:
- limiting stored information to factual technical specifications;
- avoiding marketing, editorial and opinion-based content;
- recording provenance for imported information;
- respecting published crawler directives where applicable;
- maintaining a publisher exclusion list;
- periodically reviewing publisher preferences.
These measures are intended to balance accurate technical documentation with respect for publishers’ content.

If you operate a website that appears in our source attribution and would prefer not to have your website referenced by the TPE Camera and Lens Knowledge Base, please contact us. We endeavor to review all requests promptly.
Where appropriate, we will remove your website from future ingestion and add it to our publisher exclusion list.
